Quartzite countertops and vanity tops
Quartzite is a very hard metamorphic rock that originated as pure quartz sandstone and it is transformed into quartzite. Metamorphism changes the sandy and grainy texture and creates a glassy appearance. This occurs through a process of high heating and pressurization, sandstone then transforms into Quartzite, an extremely strong and durable natural stone.
Some minerals often migrate during the metamorphism process creating streaks within the quartzite. The beautiful structure and durability of Quartzite makes it a top of the line material for countertops and wall surrounds, floors and stair steps.
Pure quartzite is usually white to gray but due to other mineral impurities they occur in various shades of red, orange, yellow, green or blue. Quartzite is harder and more resistant to stains than granite.[Not a valid template]
