Natural wood may vary in texture, color and wood grain, and exhibit subtle changes as they age. Sunlight, temperature, moisture, smoke, household cleaners and other environmental conditions may cause materials to vary from their original color and/or to warp, split or crack.
Humid air will cause slight swelling and drier air will cause slight shrinkage. It can result in wood parts splitting and cracking and the insert panels in panel doors will shrink and the panel edges will be exposed. The cracking is more evident on light colored paint. If you install the cabinets in an extremely humid area or in a building without air-conditioning you can expect the cabinet components to change dimensionally. The cabinets are designed to accommodate some of this dimensional change. These variations are considered to be the nature of the material in relation to their environmental exposure and are not covered under the warranty. This is not a reason for replacement but it is instead an indication that humidity levels are too low or too high and need to be remedied. Expansion and contraction in doors and face frames can cause visible lines at the joints. An open joint line is not considered a defect.
Cabinets adjacent to appliances or fixtures that generates high temperatures shall have properly installed heat shields or the warranty shall not apply to these cabinets.
Wood & Finish Characteristics
Variations in color, grain, mineral streaks, burl graining, knots and black eye are the beauty of nature and not considered defects. Paint may have a slight difference in tones between doors, face frames, moldings or other parts. All paints are susceptible to discoloration over time from light exposure, temperature, household cleaners, cooking, grilling, smoking, etc. For these reasons, new and/or replacement cabinets may not match display samples and/or existing cabinets. Such variations and changes are not considered defects and are not covered under this warranty.
Glazed component will have a finish appearance variations. Painted solid wood doors that are glazed add stability against seasonal dimensional changes.
Touch up and adjustments are not included under this warranty and are the responsibility of the installer.
Natural wood will shrink and expand with humidity or temperature changes, any other claims would be false.
The original purchaser agrees that any disputes regarding this Warranty hereunder will be submitted exclusively to the jurisdiction of the DuPage County, Illinois courts without giving effect to provisions from other states regarding conflicts-of-law.
